| | Model of the car: | M-Edition | | | General comments: | I have loved this car since day one when I bought it off the lot six years ago. The handling, the power, and the looks still gets double-takes from other drivers on the road. For the past five years, the car has been really fun to drive and has yet to give me any doubt that it'll last another five.
In a general response to some of the negatives in the other reviews, I'm am sorry to hear about the problems, but keep it mind that almost every car that approach middle-age should be expected to develop "problems" if not maintained properly. The only mechanical problem I have had in the past five years is a leaky radiator. (By the way, you will not find an MX-6 less than 4 years old; 1997 is the last year of production. So all MX-6's are middle-aged now.) Anyway, it's a great car! | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | 1) The MX-6 is a great car, but doesn't have enough recoginition or respect because it's a Mazda.
2) The aftermarket is limited.
3) Kinda expensive.
4) Potential not exploited, e.g. the Japanese version MX-6 has 200 hp, while the American version was detuned to 160 hp. | | | Previous car: | '96 Nissan 240SX, '96 Integra GSR |
